Flyers' Jordan Weal doesn't yet appear ready for game action

Forward Jordan Weal rejoined the Flyers at practice Tuesday, but it appears he still isn’t ready to return to game action. Weal was hurt after taking a hit from Edmonton’s Eric Gryba on Thursday night during a 6-3 loss to the Oilers.

The Flyers are terming it an upper body injury and it seems to be to his head.

“It is one of those injuries you have to take your time with,” Weal said after practice. “When I feel I am ready to play, I will.”

Weal was recently promoted from the Phantoms, for whom he was second in the AHL with 47 points. He had played only three games with the Flyers.

Weal appeared encouraged by his progress.

“I am feeling good,” he said. “It definitely has been progressing every day.”
